I made this fully functional prototype in 1983 and to this date it is still the only puzzle I have built 100% from scratch. As you can see from the photos it was made from wood. The simple mechanism used nails and after a few days it fell apart. My intention was one day to make a proper version but so far I haven't bothered. I used stickers from a Rubik's Cube just to make it usable. It goes without saying that quality was dreadful. This is perhaps a puzzle I should have kept hidden for ever but I often get asked "what else have you made?" and I guess this answers that. In my defence, remember this was 1983.
