Rubik's Cube

2.4cm / 1inch and 3cm / 1.2 inch edges

This prototype was made in 2007 from a standard Rubik's Cube. It has 24 kite sides. I have used 12 colours, doubling up on opposite faces. I have used standard Rubik's Cube style stickers.
The long name is the actual mathematical shape of the puzzle. My Kiteminx is also this shape. It still needs a bit of work and improving but I am pretty happy with the result. The three masters were sculpted by hand though Cube parts were used in the process. Silicone rubber moulds were then taken and the final pieces were cast in polyurethane resin.
It maintains it's shape and solves like a super Rubik's Cube.
