I made this puzzle in 2008 by cutting down a Rubik's Micro Cube with a Dremel. The size made this task quite tricky and more than once it was ripped from my hands and catapulted across the room. However I am very pleased with the quality and it moves really well.
For colouring I have used standard Rubik's Cube style stickers with blue opposite green on the ends and bands of black, red, yellow. This was not intentionally to recreate the German flag and with hind site I think this colour scheme is pretty poor since it makes the puzzle very easy to solve.
Similar shaped puzzles I have made are my 7x7x7 Barrel and 3x3x3 Cylinder Cube.
