This is one of five oversized
Rubik's Cubes
I have made. The others are Maxi Rubik's Cube (~10cm), Giant Rubik's Cube (19.5cm), Giant
Rubik's Cube
(14cm) and 27cm Rubik's Cube. My favourite book is the Guinness book of records and I've always had an interest in extremes of things.
This puzzle had been sitting around in my shed half finished for a number of years. At the end of 2008 I finally decided to complete it. It was made from high impact polystyrene sheet. I constructed little hollow boxes and attached them to a factory made Jumbo Rubik's Cube. The quality is ok though it lacks accuracy and knocks a bit when turned.
Naturally I have used standard Rubik's Cube style stickers and I am happy with the way the puzzle looks.
My world record video is not to be taken too seriously. However I am almost certainly the only person in the world to own a Rubik's Cube that is exactly 18x18x18cm so technically that make me the unofficial world record holder for said puzzle.
